Groups
Children and young people
Our Children’s Department currently supports over 100 children from all over Berkshire (including Reading) aged from birth to 18 years, all of whom suffer from a severe diagnosed eye condition. 75% of our younger members also have additional special needs.
Our Families’ Support Co-ordinator provides information and advice on products and services relating to visual impairment, benefits and allowances, as well as organising a comprehensive timetable of sporting, educational and fun activities, all tailor-made to include tactile and sensory experiences for the children and their families which are held regularly throughout the year.
18 - 40 Social Club
Set up recently to support young adults registered with us, this lively group meets up regularly to enjoy social activities including meals out, bowling, cinema, concerts and discos. All outings are supported by CRB checked volunteers and BCBS staff.
