The BCBS is an independant charity that recieves no funding from the RNIB or the NHS We welcome donations both large and small. The following examples might give you an idea of the costs involved in some aspects of our work:

£500 could fund an issue of our quartley newsletter "Insight", produced in large print, audio and braille

£300 could purchase a hand held C.C.T.V. system for enlarging print which would enable a partially sighted person to read their own mail.

£200 could fund a day's escorted outing, providing isolated members the chance to go out and meet others.

£100 could buy a set of headphones to enable a blind person to enjoy audio desribed theatre productions

£50 could provide over 30 reusable postal wallets for sending out our newsletter cassette

£25 could provide a stimulating toy for a blind child or a large button telephone

£10 or less could buy a talking watch or a talking mini memo
