Imagine how you would feel if even the simplest of everyday tasks became fraught with difficulty and frustration - cooking, travelling, shopping, dealing with bills, reading a newspaper or watching television. .

We try to help as much as possible but without our volunteers we would not be able to offer the wide range of services that we do. It is thanks to their dedication, determination and sheer hard work that we are able to support over 2,000 visually impaired people and help them to live as independently as possible.

Our team of volunteers provide companionship, support and practical help for hundreds of people who are blind or partially sighted. They also help us with administration, transport and fundraising.

This year we are embarking on a major campaign to recruit volunteers of all ages to help with our work. There are so many areas in which we need help.
